Another year of amazing works

The Marysville Art show is over for another year. It attracted a great deal of interest, with more than 150 people enjoying the opening night with a fabulous attendances over the weekend as well.

A premier event on the regional Arts calendar, the show is presented by the Triangle Arts Group (TAG) at MiRa and is about providing a space for Artists to present their work and building strong networks for future arts development. It is also about making a vibrant indoor place for visitors and locals to enjoy and 'show off' over the busy Melbourne Cup 'weekend'. All funds raised from the show go towards building a thriving local arts culture.

Local Artist and identity Beverly Fraser donated a painting for the opening night raffle and this was won by A. Coker. The door prize, a night at a Vibe Hotel, was won by L. Fraser.

The MiRa was displayed at it's best over the extended weekend, with visitors ably guided by a huge team of volunteers. Darryl Hull, our resident pianist, dropped in to tickle the ivories and the local community radio station, UGFM, filled the airwaves. There were many positive comments about the works and the quality of the display and this was a credit to our hard working team of volunteers.

The raffle prizes were won by;
R. Flaherty -  a framed landscape from DUSTY ROSE, which gave us a taste of his upcoming exhibition -  Broken Land, Broken Hearts.
K. Gilbert - Foodworks Hamper
E. Slack - Buxton Nursery & Garden Centre Pot
S. McCauley - Beechworth Bakery Christmas Cake
