Another year of amazing works
The Triangle Arts Group once again presented a very polished Art Show, which drew praise from the opening night attendees, participating artists and invited judge Clive Sinclair, as well as the visitors who attended the event over the four days.
The opening night saw a large turnout of around 140 people who enjoyed music provided by Joe Talia, wines provided by Buxton Ridge Winery and the Australian Sparkling Wine Show and some amazing cheese platters provided by the Vibe Hotel, Marysville.
A total of 149 entries were received at the community centre in the days leading up to the show and were submitted by artists from across Melbourne as well as both local and regional areas. The new arts stands, produced by the Marysville Triangle Men’s Shed, proved to be a significant improvement and made the hanging of the art works that much easier.
Our volunteers reported good attendances over the four days of the show and this was also reflected in the sale of works and an extraordinary number of raffle tickets, with the prizes on offer proving to be very popular.
The winners of the raffle were:
1st Lesley Rundle – 2 paintings by Juliet Corkhill
2nd Eileen Slack – Foodworks Hamper
3rd Jennifer Carpenter – Trailer of Wood
Full credit for the event must go to the Art Show team, who put in an incredible amount of work in the months leading up to the event to ensure its success. However, the event would not be possible without the generosity of our many sponsors and supporters, who contributed in various ways and also enabled us to award cash prizes, in a range of categories to a total value of $5000.00.
To all of our sponsors, supporters and volunteers and also to the many artists who entered their works, we’d like to say a big THANK YOU for making this event such a success.
